Risks
Counterparty Risk
- Superbank does not eliminate any counterparty risk.
- How Superbank mitigates this risk:
- We require Developers to maintain strong underwriting on their users, enforce compliance controls, and use transaction monitoring tools.
- Developers are required to provide detailed information on their KYC/AML, fraud control and compliance programs during the onboarding process.
Capital Utilization
- Superbank does not eliminate the risk of underutilizing or over-allocating capital if your transaction volume doesn’t match predictions or is volatile.
- How Superbank mitigates this risk:
- We enforce a minimum utilization threshold.
- We dynamically size liquidity pools based on real-time and historical flows.
Reversals and Chargebacks
- Superbank does not reduce or eliminate risks associated with transaction reversals.
- How Superbank mitigates this risk:
- Performance standards are defined in covenants.
- We continuously monitor key reversal metrics (return rates, chargeback types, refund ratios) to update real-time risk scores.
Underwriting
All Developers go through a two-phase evaluation:Pre-Qualification
This is an initial screening that takes place before the full underwriting. Its purpose is to confirm that Developer’s expected transaction volumes, transaction patterns, and intended use case fit within Superbank’s eligibility framework.Applicants are required to submit 90 days of complete on/off-ramping transaction data, including:
- All payment rails (ACH, Wire, Credit Card, RTP, etc.)
- Transaction outcomes (successful, failed, reversed, etc.)
- Settlement timing data (initiation and settlement timestamps)
- Daily, weekly, monthly volume, consistency, and average transaction size.
Underwriting Process
This is a detailed review conducted once pre-qualification is completed. It verifies the provided information, evaluates actual transaction behavior, and assesses whether Developer meets all compliance, operational, and risk requirements. The process includes document checks, data validation, and an in-depth review of controls and anticipated activity.
